We supply an axe book with all of our Gransfors axes free of charge!
The splitting axe’s blade starts off concave and fairly thin, allowing easy penetration into the wood, where upon the thickening axe head exerts enormous splitting pressure. The small splitting axe, with 1.6kg head, 6cm face & 60cm textured hickory handle, is ideal for splitting kindling & smallish stove wood. It can be used one-handed. Note this axe’s poll is not hardened for use as a sledge.
