Whatever your interest in the outdoors, whether it’s a gentle walk, wildlife watching, learning about bushcraft and outdoor living, enhancing your already-acquired skills, or picking up easy-to-understand wildlife photography techniques, Greenman Bushcraft will be able to bring out the best in what you want to know.
Our relaxed, informal style blends perfectly with the pace of the day. We prefer to teach individuals or small groups, as we believe that you can learn more when your guide is available to chat with and ask questions to.
All of our courses are now run by Kris Miners of www.naturessecretlarder.co.uk. Kris teaches many individuals and groups each year and has 23 years of experience in his chosen subjects. He writes for various magazines, books and frequently helps out behind the scenes of many well-known cooking and survival shows, providing details of how to survive and live well from the land. Kris specialises in wild foods and useful plants and trees.
As well as a bushcraft instructor, Kris is a wildlife photographer and keen conservationist who has worked for several well established environmental charities and outdoor education centres.
Kris also writes many of our equipment reviews and tests the products out in the field, so you can rest assured that the majority of what we stock has been used in real-world situations, and if they fail we don’t stock them!
What our students say about Kris and his courses
I’ve always been interested in the natural world but I feel a lot more inspired now – we are even talking of converting our front lawn into a token wildflower meadow !!"

"I’ve been on lots of outdoor courses over the years, and your knowledge of wild foods and useful plants and trees has far surpassed anything that any other instructor has been able to teach me. My newly gained knowledge will help me greatly in my line of work as an outdoor education officer"
Christina (Cambs)
"I just felt compelled to send you guys and girls at Greenman Bushcraft an e-mail to let you know how much I enjoyed the foraging course I attended in May. I already had some basic knowledge of edible plants before I attended from previous courses I have been on with other schools, but your style was very different, and rather than spending the standard fifteen minutes on the subject, covering the usual, Kris took the time to spend a full 8 hours showing myself, and the rest of the group a plethora of different species, many of which I had never seen before, let alone used! My notepad is now full with information.
I also very much enjoyed the practical elements of the course, which has shown me how to look at the natural world in a very different light. I will certainly be attending one of your courses again in the future!
Thanks again"
